Busman Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Seems ages since i had a look on here, anyway just changed my Mk2 for a Mk3 i know glutton for punishment and all that, but still cannot better it ,I have a VAG Cycle carrier which i believe was sold origanally for 300 pounds +has only been used couple of times so is in perfect cond but would like to know if it could fit a Mk1 am looking for Quote
big_kev Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Don't know what you mean by a VAG cycle carrier. If its the internal type then if it fitted a MK2 it will definitely fit a Mk1. If its an MK2 external type then it will most likely fit the Mk1 as well. Any chance of a pic ? Quote
WOODNOOK Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Probaly too late for the original poster but a while ago I spent some time looking for the answer to his and hope a reply might be of use to anyone else searching.I ended up with both a MK1 and MK2 kit for the Atera Linea bike rack. They look similar but the MK2 rear door is longer and more horizontal at the top edge and the bike rack mounting bracket is differently shaped. Although a MK1 rack will physically fasten on to a MK2 it dents the top edge of the door. Because of the differnce in the bracket the side rails are also slightly shorter on the MK2 kit. It may well work but given the fact that it was denting the MK2 door I didn't fancy putting 4 bikes onto it, and bought the MK2 kit.If anyone needs a surplus MK1 mounting kit I have one avaialble!
