Has Anyone Fitted A K N N Filter .......

Hi , Has anyone fitted a K n N Filter to there Mk 1 (1999) Galaxy or are they not worth the bother ? would be interesting to know as I need to replace my filter and thought about my taking the whole air box off and replace it with a K/N induction kit or a panel filter ,any thoughts people?

personally cant see the point? yes the filter flows better! but you still have all the oe restictions in the intake system so what really is the improvement? a cone filter? without a cold air intake it sucks in hot air from the bay which is less dense so no improvement but loads of noise!! :D the only real improvement is the long life aspect of the filter the K&N for my mk2 GTI has lasted 11years now! ;) I should really take it out the box and fit it before the warrenty runs out :D
