HELLO ALL, COULD DO WITH SOME SUGGESTIONS AS IM A BIT STUCK, JUST CHANGED FROM A PETROL GALAXY TO A TDI ALHAMBRA, LOVELY CAR, GOOD CONDITION, ITS DONE 170K BUT FULL SERVICE HISTORY, HERE'S MY PROBLEM IT PULLS WELL UP TO 4TH GEAR BUT WHILST ON THE MOTORWAY TODAY I NOTICED A PROBLEM, AT ABOUT 30- 31K RPM AND AROUND 80 MPH IT SEEMS TO HIT A LAG AND DROP BACK DOWN TO 65ISH AND IT WONT GO MORE THAN 80, NOT SURE IF ITS TURBO RELATED IT DOES'NT DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT I WOULD LIKE TO FIGURE IT OUT, ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME

heres 1 suggestion,STOP SHOUTING ;) .

 

your cars probably telling you YOUR speeding.

hows your normal acceleration,is it hesitant?

might be the maf?

no its fine all the way up to 5th i did notice it was happening in 4th at about 30k rpm aswel

just been reading a post on another site and someone has been having the same problem and its been suggested thats its a lhm (limp home mode) due to a poor connection in the engine wiring or a faulty ecu, anyone had a problem like this before?

Happens to me quite often. Mines a taxi so ot does a lot of town mileage, I think the turbo pipes get clogged then it starts going into protection mode (limp home) as the turbo isn't boosting properly. A good thrash up the motorway usually clears it for a few days!

lol, il give that a go but it had a good thrashing yesterday and its still happening, just spoke to a friend of mine and he had the same problem and he ran the diagnostics and it was because the exhaust was blowing and it cause a fault.

sound like a similar problem to mine, no pick-up and wont go over 80'ish just put new injector nozzles in (.216) but still no differance. going to check turbo actuator tomorrow, does anyone know how to remove the turbo and give it good clean??

jacked her up today and got to the turbo, the two braided hose are quite perished and one looks as its split, they look like they have a o/d of 10mm ish and i know one goes to the tube coming of the air box, can anyone tell me there part number or will it be ok to change them with some stainless steel braided hose with the same i/d? and i also would like to know how to check the actuator.cheers
