Flashing Displays And More Key Questions

Hi all,

 

Some more questions I'd like to throw out there. My neighbour has just got a 2002 Galaxy Ghia 1.9TDI and there's a couple of things that are baffling us so here goes.

 

The stereo display constantly flashes when it's on. Everything works fine but we can't find a way to stop the flashing.

 

The climate control display flashes for a while and the returns to normal operation. I noticed when you turn the blowers off the display show "1" instead of "off".

 

I've also got a question about my own ongoing saga trying to get my remote locking working. Is there a procedure to de-programme a key? We're going to do some expeimenting with the keys and don't want to permenantly be able to unlock each others cars (potentially).

Is the radio a consistant or random flashing? What model is it?

 

The climate panel flashes to indicate a fault condition is preventing it from working correctly, the 1 signifies an error code is logged.

It's the 5000 RDS with bootloader. It's consistant flashing.
