The dash computer display was working fine, then suddenly the screen flashed and is now blank except for a couple of rows of red dots right at the bottom of the screen. It stayed like this even after turning the ignition off, locking the car and leaving it for 20 minutes or so. Having left the car overnight, it seems fine this morning, but does anyone know what might be causing this? Quote
emma Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 i i have a galaxy 2.0tdci mk 3, and have the same problem, it has happened in the past , and rectified itself, but today it is booked in for mot and guess what the dash is out!! Please have you fixed your problem or does anyone else know the fix. Thanks Quote
AndyBee Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I am not sure what exactly is going on, but this seems to relate to cold weather. My Galaxy has done the same 2-3 times, but only in cold (sub zero) temperatures, and it has always sorted itself out after a few minutes or perhaps the next day. I would be interested to read what a dealer says about the problem. Quote
tracey1969 Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 mine is still doing this intermititedly, always at the most inconvient of time ie mileag check, spoke to a friend who is a ford fitter and he didnt have clue. weather doesnt seem to determine when mine will do it.anyone had any luck Quote
fankle Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 Did anyone have this fault rectified? My 06' Galaxy has developed this fault too. Quote
gregers Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 may be clutching at straws here but it may require a sotware upgrade?? Quote
fankle Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 mmmmmm..... I dont think out of date software would cause an intermitant dash fault. more likely a broken dash to go with my broken hand brake lever!!! Quote
gregers Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 well the dash's afaik are the same as on the smax, and the general info ive have seen so far suggest a software update, but as usual i could be wrong. Quote
cocksy Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 I had a similar problem recently with my MkIII 59-plate ghia. Took it to local ford dealer, they said i needed a new instrument cluster and have just replaced it. Apart from the cluster being completely different (speedomoter now goes up in twenties rather than tens...), all works ok, except we have gained 3,000 miles on the odometer! Any ideas?? Dealer claims either previous owner fitted a new dash but didn't upload mileage from PCU(?) - unlikely as "Ford Direct" vehicle with mileage certified, or that the vehicle has just not been recording mileage correctly. Does this seem reasonable?? Quote
gregers Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 i think you need to go back and have a bit of a rant at them. Quote
Woody77woody Posted August 14, 2015 Report Posted August 14, 2015 Did anyone get this issue resolved without a new instrument cluster? Quote

Woody77woody Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Software update from a ford dealer cured it-happy days. Quote
