Timing Mk1 Galaxy

i have just done head gasket on mk1 galaxy.

moved engine to tdc by eye and have set cam and fuel pump using tools. engine will not start. What does the timing mark on the fly wheel look like ? and could i be 180 degrees out ?

hi there if you look in that little hole in top of gearbox there is a little notch and pointer its not very good .you cant get crank timing 180 out but you can get valve timing 180 out but if youve locked camshaft and pump timing with tools it should be ok...is there fuel getting to injectors? hope this helps you :

just check number one piston is a top dead centre and the marks will appear if the timing was well out the engine would lock up mate
