Exterior Warning Light On

Since i bought my car around 2-3 weeks ago Ive had the warning light on my dash to tell me i have an exterior light out....Ive checked the car during day and night to try figure out which light is out but cannot find it...they all seem to be working fine

 

Could it be an interior light thats out (even though book says its exterior warning) or is it an electrical fault?

It only checks exterior lights what year is your car and spec

The system can't check the brake circuit until after you've pressed the pedel once after ignition on, it will show the lamp fail light until then.

No its not on all the time, goes off shortly after i start driving..or until i stall again :)

sounds like its working fine then.

as said it checks the braking system bulbs aswell(AND MORE)only worry if it stays on after pressing the brake pedal.

If you invest in vagcom ( diagnostics software ) it will tell you which bulb the fault is on.

 

It could also be the rear wiring breaking doen as it passes into the tailgate.
