Guest ttam lleb Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 :D i have read before on this site about the small exhaust like thing at the rear under the back air con unit and the fact that it sounds like a jet engine winding down, especially when you switch off, but also more recently i have been getting an aviation fuel smell(sounds daft i know).my worry is not only is this smell getting worse but today when driving from my local tesco car park to the tesco petrol station some 200yds i get out go to fill up and im greeted by plumes of white smoke. i drove home with all heatig/fans etc off and could hear my little jet engine doing its nut (getting faster high pitch sound) at traffic lights standing still i could see some more smoke not as much as before, should i be worried, should i still drive, and how much do you think to put right. help much appreciated Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Constant white/grey smoke could mean the metering pump is faulty and could need replacing or the worst scenario is that the whole heater unit needs replaceing!if its just a wisp of white/grey smoke in this damp weather we are presently having it could just be moisture in the air being burnt off the heater? and is not a great worry! see if it gets any worse! and then stick in the dealers IIRC on another thread concerning the aux heater someone mentioned that a repair kit is avalable for the heater?
