MrT Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 A couple of queries on dashboard warning lights, if someone could confirm that theirs is the same or different. The front fog warning light, on my vehicle this is an already lit (if sidelights are on) indicator with a front fog signal on the rotary switch that gets brighter. There is no in dash front fog warning light, only an orange rear. The instrument console according to the handbook has an indicator at about 10 o' clock on the speedometer to show that cruise control is in operation. Mine does not appear to have this indicator or it has failed. Just to confirm my vehicle is a 2001/2002 Galaxy Ghia 2.8i Auto. Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 The cruise indicator or lack of it has been mentioned elsewhere, I cant remember the outcome but I think its pot luck wether you get it or not? it may be worth your while doing a search on the topic Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 Yup, that's right. It appears that if you have a Ford, the chances are that the cruise light will not be working (mine doesn't work) whereas Sharan and Alhambra usually have an operating light. Apparently the dash lights cannot be changed. Thinking about another thread ref having to programme a new (replacement) instrument cluster, I wonder if a majority of Ford instrument panels have been programmed incorrectly at the factory, and maybe the cruise light can be made to work by reprogramming. Wouldn't want to risk letting a dealer near mine to try this though..... Quote
johnb80 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 The cruise light works on my Nov 2003 115TDi Ghia Auto. Regards - JB Quote
Dally Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 MrT I like you have a v6 auto but it is 2003 model year. The fog light is same as yours but my cruise light does work properly!! Quote
Richmond Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Mine is the same as Mr T's (2002 model). Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 As the cruise control is purely electronic on the TDI'S and VR6's I wonder if the cruise control indicator can just be programmed into the system or is it simply a case of the bulb not being fitted on the production line? has anyone pulled their clocks out to check that the circuit board has the capability to power the lamp? I know from looking at the rear of mine that fitting the fuel warning lamp isnt possible due there being no circuit board around the hole the lamp plugs into :D Quote
