kebrina Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 O/S Rear door sensor is knackered. Desperately need to fix/replace as it's the first door we open to get the kids in and I'm fed up of the car relocking itself and then sounding its alarm because we've not opened a different door for it to recognise! Help PLEASE!! :) Quote

Help PLEASE!! :)I assume you mean by sensor you mean door light switch ! if so it will be a dealer part Radiotwo I don't know if it operates the light - probably does (they all come on when I unlock it anyway - so wouldn't know), but if you open the door it doesn't show on the dash that the door is open - like it does for all other doors. It's the small rubber covered thing at the base of the door, away from the hinges. Do I really have to go direct to Ford? Quote
Mirez Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 No :) That switch is a 3 pin unit that controls the interior lighting and dash panel. You can get them from Ford, VW or Seat. Alternatively use a local scrapyard or ebay. The older golf's and passats use the same switches. The ford part number is 95VW13713 DA (FINIS: 1046030) which is showing as a retail of only Quote
rookie123 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 Just had to replace the exact same door part on my 2002 Alhambra TDi. Mirez is spot on with his price as I paid exactly Quote

kebrina Posted May 20, 2010 Author Report Posted May 20, 2010 That makes 7 posts linking to the same site. Am I alone in considering you have ulterior motives here? Quote
Jayton Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 No, you are not alone others have noticed his naughtiness. ;) Top Tip: Open your drivers door to stop the alarm going off ;) I have to replace both rear switches ;) Quote
kebrina Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 Yeah, I know about opening another door, but I still forgot when trying to strap all chilblains down in a hurry. Have fixed it now though, got a new bit from Listers VW, even though I got attitude and looks from men clearly thinking I'm an idiot woman. Ford Galaxy, says I - You do know this is a VW showroom??? ARGH. Came in eventually, and they never rang me back when they said they would - just under Quote
