Shaun70 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Hi There i have a 2000 mk1 focus zetec, we recently lost our remote key somewhere so we had to call out a locksmith!after spending loads of money we now have 2 new keys, 1 remote and one standard!Last week we found the lost key so i decided to reprogramme it and put it to use! i put a new battery in it first and then did the 1st key, 2nd key, 3rd key trick which worked, so i now i have 3 working keys woohoo! the problem is when i tried to programme the key to be able to use the remote locking it worked but then the 1st key stopped working?? so i reprogrammed the 1st key and it worked and then the 2nd key stopped working??? basically i cant get both remote keys to work at the same time (not literally the same time, you know what i mean).Im stumped can anyone please help :) Quote
big_kev Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 If you put the car into programming mode and program a single remote it will wipe all others from memory. You have to program the remotes one after the other whilst remaining in programming mode. Put the car in programming mode as per previous ( 3 or 4 turns of key in lock etc ). Whilst in programming mode ....program one key ( press buttons etc )...then do the other key.. whilst still in programming mode.....this has to be done within a few ( 10 ? ) seconds after the first. Do not renter programming mode between programming keys :) Quote
