Hi, could somebody help me please? I have started using our Galaxy 2.8 V6 with a manual gearbox again after not using it for about 6 months. It ran fine for about a week and then we started finding the gear shift to be stiff. It is the horizontal (neutral) selector that is stiff. I topped up the hydraulic oil in the Power Steering pot as it was low and was told this would help. That was this morning. I took it out for a drive and everything seemed fine for about an hour until I got stuck in third and fourth. Now the selector has almost seized. Only the left/right (neutral) selector. I have removed the inside console and it is fine. I also removed the selector (white cable selector) off the gearbox and the gear stick works fine. I have tried moving the fixed part protruding from the gear box by hand but cannot move it. I have just checked the oil in the gearbox itself by removing the filler cap and there is oil in the gear box. Any ideas anybody? Would be grateful for any advice. P.S. I had a new clutch fitted 18 months ago.

When i got my Galaxy the left to right was very stiff to the point you could go into 1st insted of 3 rd when changing gear. I removed the battery tray so i could see wgat was going off and the gear linkage was fine, on the gear box linkage there is a white (on mine) bush which seem to be where the stiffness was coming from, i took the clip of the end and when i tried to pull the bar out it was very tight, anyway got it out and then with a short (snapped in half)10mm drill bit i opened the bush back up, then a little bit of grease on the pin, put it back together and it is now fine......sorry if this is a ramble but i didnt take pic's but hope it points you in the right direction.
