Whilst at it i may change the fluid. What is the general advice for getting at the fluid top up and on changing the fluid.

21mm min thickness for fronts 8 for rears, i would measure first then make my own mind up . it all depends what price you put on safety daft not putting new disc's when pads changed and disc's that badly worn.did they give you an actual thickness ?

the replacement of the brake fluid is an pain I use a large syringe with a long piece of tube, washer pipe bore size but it depends how big your syringe is ,suck out as much as you can refill with new with syringe then bleed each brake in turn starting at the furthest away working towards the nearest topping up each time you swap . If you need a syringe try a nurse ;)

Syringes - try the local chemist - you will get a funny look when you ask them what you want it for, and you tell them your reason! Takes me back to my days as a student - I needed them to mix chemicals for photographic processing. Make sure you state clearly that you don't want any needles!

Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years according to the "experts" but I usually get mine done every 3 years and I have not had a poblem.
