defadog Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any usefull information on the 1999 RNS/MDF. For some reason the Language is stuck in GERMAN. I have been looking on many different sites to see if this can be changed - to no avail. Does anyone know where I can get a FIRMWARE for the system? Does anyone know how to change the language back to ENGLISH from GERMAN? Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Non-DX UK map? Any HELP would be most appreciated.. THANKS in advance Quote
big_kev Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Do you have the model number on this ? Quote
defadog Posted March 9, 2010 Author Report Posted March 9, 2010 Do you have the model number on this ? These are the numbers printed on the side of the Unit: SN: BP1442X37690437 612 001 442XM21 18K931 AC7M0 035 191 A from what I can remember it is a MFD (a) RNS - non-dx THANKS Quote
big_kev Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 I think the language can be chosen via the menu system. Keep pressing the menu button until you get to the language setting and then change this to english........okay....this may be difficult until you figure out the german for language......suggest using an online translator ( google, or whatever ) on all the mneu options until you find the one for language. I am also assuming you do not have a manual for this ? If not click link below and find it. http://fordfcsd.wunderman.be/UK/ Quote
defadog Posted March 9, 2010 Author Report Posted March 9, 2010 Will look through the Manuals on-line and hopefully they will help/assist me. I cant see a MENU button on the System. I can get the Information of the System by holding 3 and 6 together which brings up all the HW/SW with a date of AUG 1999 etc. and INFO and AS buttons when turning on brings me into the FIRMWARE menu. but I cant seem to find any other MENUS. Will have another look tommorow, and Translate via google. THANKS Quote

Mirez Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 Ok you won't be able to do this without a nav disk in the unit: Turn it on and press the "NAVI" button - wait for the disk to load and the screen to change a mapPush the right rotary dial in once for enterScroll to the bottom right option (SETTINGS) and push enter againScroll to the top left option (SELECT LANGUAGE) and push enter Scroll down 3 options to "ENGLISH IMPERIAL" and push enter Done  Quote
