Guest Maxim!! Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Does ESP help Ford Mondeo to start moving when one wheel is on a slippery surface (e.g. ice) and is rolling in vain and another wheel is on a dry solid road (e.g. asphalt). The dealer claims that it does help, but the manual does not affirm this explicitly. Does also ESP help to start moving on deep snow? How is ESP in compare with true differential blocking systems? Guest MikeyB Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 Might be wrong, but I thought that ESP pulled the power if for example you enter a bend to quick. TCS - traction control would help you pull away on slippery surfaces unless ESP contains the workings of TCS as well, but I thought that they were seperate systems. Quote
Guest Ford Master Technician Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 ESP is very basically ABS and traction control combined, it will help you get off ice/snow but that is just the traction control part of the system; but it's job really is to monitor your driving and when you enter a corner too fast with a lot of steering input it will start to brake and accelerate certain wheels to help put the car back under control.
