mrchipz Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Hi folks, Had a drivers door lock problem for a while since the really cold weather started.Something broke in the lock barrel mechanism after a few icy unlocks allowing the barrel to turn right round and then providing no locking/unlocking function. So today swapped the passenger and drivers side door handles successfully. Now I can turn the drivers door lock to unlock and lock all the doors except the drivers side. Now I cannot open the drivers door.I have read that the deadlocks may be electrically operated.Suggesting that a broken wire in the door boot may be preventing the deadlocks from being deactivated. Could someone please confirm if the deadlocks are operated in this way and a broken wire may be at fault. Also, has anyone managed to remove a door card from a closed and locked door without destroying the card.I have searched the forum and the net for a fix to this particular problem with no luck so if anyone has any advice to sort it I would be very grateful. Many thanks in advance. Quote
