seatkid Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Whn you add a reply, in the box labelled file attachments put the path of your jpg or gif file. Make sure to edit the file so it is small and limit your resolution. 640x480 seems best. Quote

Nick Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 When I tried to insert IMG with the path to the picture I got the error message: Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed Where am I going wrong? ...... Ah! got it! The ball joint in question (see post 'wiper linkage) is on the left hand side of the pic in the red circle. Quote
janrapacz Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Is there more than one type of wiper linkage? I am trying to replace mine but it does not look like the one in the picture above? Have been quoted Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I suspect that there are at least 2 types - one for driver's wiper on top, one for driver's wiper underneath. Then there will be the "modified" linkage parts (in effect the manufacturer saying we got it wrong first time and have changed the design as a result). Quote
Guest chrisH Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 My ball joint failed/separated the other day. It happened in the worst rain I can remember for a long time, the wipers met in the middle of the screen and wouldn't part. I managed to pull over and take a look under the bonnet and found the same balljoint as the picture above had separated. First thing to do was check both wipers were still ok, after a lot of swearing i got them apart and the passenger side worked ok, now for the drivers side. I always carry wire, tools, string, tape etc in the 2 rear bulb compartments so with my shirt and tie on and me still 250 miles away from home I began , multi-tool in hand and a piece of fence wire (the thick stuff) i managed to press the two pieces back together, wrap the wire around in a figure of eight ( there was also a hole on the lower arm which i poked it through for good measure !) then with my fingers crossed i turned the wipers back on. They worked. I got home and the wire is still there and looks ok, no scufffing or wear on any parts of the arm or wire. I should replace the parts but until i win the lottery the wire will have to do. My car is looking more and more like its been worked on by Blue Peter but it goes and it goes well, what more can i ask. Quote
