Further to my problem with my audio fading in and out, (I'm still working on it!!), can anybody tell me whether the 2007R with the CD changer has a seperate amplifier as well as the head unit. The haynes manual says that there is a seperate amplifier found above and behind the air con system.

Is this correct, or is the amplifier contained within the 2007R head unit?

(by the way the radio coding worked fine thanks) B)

The 2007 does not have its own integral amp. For once the Haynes manual is correct the amplifier is sandwiched between the radio and the cubbie hole below. To remove it you need to remove the radio, cubbie hole and aircon controls, so that the outer bezel can be unscrewed and removed with this off the amp is easily accessed. In case anyone wants one I have an adaptor lead for sale that can be used to connect straight to the speaker plug, thus by passing the amp (handy for when you upgrade but don't wnat to mess the stndard car wiring up)
