Hello everyone, I am a new member and have a up to now reliable black 2.3 petrol W reg Ford Galaxy owned from new, the master brake cylinder has finally gone pop probably due to short school runs for many years.

I got a quote from the local Garage to replace it at a cost of 276 pounds ! yes that's right 276 a lot of dosh what ever way you look at it, so decided to find out what price I could get the cylinder myself - well through a friend of a friend I ended up getting a brand new unit for 55 pounds and as the Garage was chargeing 160 labour that equates to 116 for the part - nice chaps.

So the long and the short of it is rather than get ripped off I would like advice on changing the cylinder myself as it is easily visible from the front can anyone tell me if there are any pitfalls as it looks straight forward and bleeding the brakes is fairly easy.
