jonnyh Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 hi new on here hopefully some 1 can help . my 1998 galaxy tdi won`t disengage the clutch you can move the gear stick through all the gears with the engine running with out pressing the clutch , when the pedal is pressed it goes all the way to the floor with out any pressure you could press it with your finger Quote
Mirez Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 its hydrolic system I'm more electrically minded then mechanically but I would suggest either the slave cylinder is stuck in the extended position or the pressure plate inside the clutch housing has given up. Quote

Mirez Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 or there is a leak and the oil has seeped out? Hopefully not, its fed from the brake system on the galaxy! Quote

paulh Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 or there is a leak and the oil has seeped out? Hopefully not, its fed from the brake system on the galaxy! Its fed from the same reservoir, but its a different ressure system. I know this as my slave cylinder went a while ago, no pedal and fluid leaking out, brakes not affected at all. Quote
