2002 1.9 Tdi Auy Gal Alternator

hi, can anyone tell me which alternator i need for the above car, the alternator failed and was replaced about 18 months ago, the damn thing screams every time i take a tight corner, a friend said i should have an alternator with a clutch pulley, i think the garage put a bog standard golf alternator on . is there a site where i can punch in my vin and retrieve the spec for my car .

Depends on which model (Zetec/Ghia) Gal you have wether you need the 90 or 120A unit.

 

The Ghia (as mine) requires the 120A because of the additional electrics

 

Eurocarparts quote mine as -
