TheBogieMan Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Hi Long time not posting as things have gone smoothly up until now ! My Alhambra TDi has suddenly starting playing up, when starting from cold she'll fire up then die straight away unless you give it a lot of throttle, when driving there will be an intermittent dip in power and a fair bit of smoke from the exhaust, putting your foot down will clear it, a mate of mine suggested taking the EGR valve off and cleaning it up, so off I toddled up to the workshop and set about pulling it off....When I took the intake pipe off the inlet manifold I noticed it was full of oil, the turbo spins up fine and there's no other signs off illness apart from the intermittent power loss. What would be causing it to blow oil round the intake ? Apologies if this has already been covered but I couldn't find anything by searching, if it has could a kind soul point me towards the relevant thread Cheers Bogie PS anyone got a good hangover cure ?, I'm dying here :) Quote
studsmassive Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 when was it last serviced ? also after a journey do you let it run for a couple of minutes to let the oil get back round the turbo i always have as my dad told me this many years ago from when my dad had amondo diesel Quote
