pj_andrew Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 The Gal got hit by a boulder (well, a massive stone) on the M1 over Easter  . It's left a horrible ding in the bonnet, about the size of a 5p piece. Gone right through the paintwork and left a small impact dent. On other cars, I've tried covering these over with touch up paint but it always looks rubbish. Any suggestions for something to cover the dent to stop if going rusty. (Or, can someone give fool proof instructions on using touch up paint and making it look good.) Quote
Guest vitrocmax Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 sorry to hear you've had a visit from the dentist. If you've got an impact dent then there's not much you can do yourself. I notice from your avatar that the colour's a metallic, so that makes it worse. I'm sure you would prefer to tackle it yourself, but there's not much chance of an 'invisible' repair. I don't know where you are, but in most areas there's a good 'dent doctor' (Chips Away, Pro-Finish, Flying Colours) and that may be your best, if not cheapest course of action. Hope you can get it fixed. Quote
Guest Paul Collins Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Chips Away will do a good job Don't try it yourself, I started on the stonechips on my metallic bonnet and made a right mess of it. I've been quoted Quote
