Dear All,

Ex 53 plate jinxed Galaxy Ghia TDDI owner here looking to (maybe foolishly) venture into Galaxy / Alhambra ownership again.

My previous Galaxy was an ex Ford corperate car bought at 17 months old with 74,000 miles on the clock. The car was THE most comfortable car I've ever owned but it developed just about every common fault possible over the 10 months following purchase. Air-con failed, Alloys lost all their finish, aux heater failed to name a few faults.

The car I am currently looking at buying is a 56 plate Alhambra 1.9tdi Tip-Auto with just 9,000 miles on the clock. It's stylance spec and has every factory extra except leather. The dealer is a friend (if a dealer could ever be) and he is looking at

I agree with Tim in that our 06 plate car is really very good. Only issue has been the auxiliary fusebox and loom wiring which melted (as loads of them do) and I had to repair the main loom as a result at 55,000 miles and 3 1/2 years old.

George.

Did you buy it?

I think you'll find it maybe not so comfy as a Galaxy, as the Stylance has sports seats & sports suspension (WHY???). and probably lower profile tyres.

It looked like a good deal from the dealer, but I tried phoning his landline (I don't do mobiles for car sellers!) and emailed him through Autotrader and got no reply. Also asked Yellow pages for the number of his dealership and they had no record of that name. So I gave up.

But good for you if he's a friend of yours.

It did look like a bargain though - not for sale any more.

So I'm still looking for a diesel auto....unless the auto boxes all fail at 60,000 miles.... Do they???
