kebrina Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Right, first off - I'm a girl. Be gentle with me. I've just got my new (52 reg) Galaxy Ghia, automatic (2.8l V6) home. Obviously I'm horrified with its projected mpg figure - but I can't work out how to make it display it on the dash for me to be horrified everytime I drive it - I've fiddled about but need instructing! Also, there's a Panasonic 8 DVD autochanger in the back, which works but I can't get the audio to come out of the stereo. May be a basic wiring problem as I've tried changing the source on the central panel thingy - but still all I can get is radio. Does teh CD in the centre of the dash not play CDs? It keeps asking for a navigation CD ROM - is that all it is for? Any and all help much gratefully received. I anticipate selling this rather sooner than I had planned, solely because of the mpg figure. I got a bit carried away at the dealership and whilst I'm thrilled with everything else - I hadn't planned on quite such poor figures. Teach me to go out without my Parkers guide... Thanks. Quote

You super star you. Now I can be absolutely horrified everytime I stop in traffic. Just got to work out how the sodding autochanger gets through to the stereo now. Can't believe the CD in the dash isn't for audio discs! Big fat 'mwah' to you. Quote

I initially wanted a diesel, but there were pros and cons to both. I guess I didn't realise exactly how much worse the mpg was with the petrol, but we live and learn. I imagine I'll keep hold of it for as long as my purse can bear the petrol costs, then sell it on. Gutted, because otherwise, it's a stunning car. The sat nav thingy came with all the discs, and I can make that work, but it's not something I imagine I'll get much use out of. I had assumed that I could put audio cds in the same slot, and they would play, but it doesn't seem to work. I've filled the autochanger though, and it spins up, and skips discs if I use the remote, but I can't find any dash controls, and it doesn't play them to the stereo. I've not tried fiddling with the dvd screens in the back yet... maybe they hold the key. The skip forward/backward buttons on the steering wheel look worn though - so they must do something. ;) Quote
