Paul1 Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Ive got a 1.9 tdi manual. The gearbox cruntches into 1st (liveable) but then sometimes refuses too go into reverse? Ive tried adjusting the cables but the manual says too pull out all slack if i do this on the blue cable it appears too be too long and when fixed in cant get reverse at all or 5th so have too resort too trial and error but still no better than at the start. So can these cables stretch? im looking at changing them but dont want too waste money if i need a new gearbox??all ends look good except little bush about 10mm square which is on linkage of blue cable? cheers. chromedome Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Do you have the same problem without the engine running? If not it could be a bad case of clutch drag. Quote
Paul1 Posted January 24, 2010 Author Report Posted January 24, 2010 yes engine running or not problems with reverse Quote
