Benn2001 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Hi all Following a recent failed attempt to re-cover my front arm rests I am now considering adding a centre console to my 2003 Galaxy LX, if it can be done. I would assume that there are some galaxy models that come with a centre console up front/larger arm rest with storage. Does anyone know if this is available? Or, would an arm rest/centre console from another car other that Shalaxy/ Alhambra fit? Quote
Benn2001 Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 Hmmmmmm.....wonder if this would fit right http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Armrest-Centre-Conso...d#ht_4673wt_939 Quote
Mirez Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Eugh, whats that???? The only galaxy that came with a console was the one with the media pack, it contains a handbrake surround, console, armrest and houses the media controler and dvd player. The armrest is tiny though and sits below the main front seat armrests hence no use. You'd also have to fill the hole the module sits in! The armrests are a doddle to replace though so just get some new ones and refit :( Quote
Benn2001 Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 :( Yeah, it's pretty nasty but the only one I could find. I reckon new arm rests are the way to go. Gonna try and get some new ones, I am preparing myself for a shock when I enquire at my local Ford dealer tomorrow :( Nice site btw Mirez, the tutorials are quality. Might try some of those once I sort out these arm rests. Quote
andys galaxy Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) Anyone tried putting the centre console/armrest from an s max into an 07 Galaxy? they look like a straight swap, but that would be too easy  Edited February 10, 2010 by andys galaxy Quote
Willie Krashitt Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Parts list does not give different part numbers for Galaxy / SMax, so should be a straight swap - most likely harder to get the right colour/number of switches etc than doing the swap. You might need a stiff drink if you go to a dealer to get the bits though - Basic "carcass" (runs from bottom of dash to just behind front seat backs) is around Quote
andys galaxy Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Was thinking more of scrp yards, assuming i can find the parts. Thanks for the reply i may start the search now.Andy Quote
