If its the latter it could very well be the driveshaft/gearbox coupling as they are a known weekspot resulting eventually in no drive. Quote
andy936 Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) hi mirezit is a slight knock when taking up taking up and releasing drive as you said in latawhen i bought the car last year it was a hell of a lot worse and the garage that i bought it off made it 70% better..tried to get it sorted with them before been removed from their forecourt by their security....loli was wondering if theyve just packed the joint full of grease.....? but to be fair it hasnt got much worse...just want to iron out all the faults b 4 trips to the coast this summerhopefully its just a drive shaft and not anything relating to the gearbox itself as the car hasnt even done 80k yet!!cheers for the reply dude - top manandrewps is the drive shaft - coupling a big job?? Bigjeeze Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Sounds like the Output shaft on the offside which is a known problem. If you can get the car up on a ramp with the wheels on the ground then grasp the half shaft and try turning - if it moves back and forth with a click that's your problem - the issue is it may go at any time you can't predict it. It's costs around Quote
