jonny239 Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 check the light controller under the left hand seat Ok this sounds promising could you just give me a few more details what the box looks like can i acess it with out removing seats, do you mean the passenger front seat, how would i go about checking the controller once removed Quote
chromedome Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 You may find a pool of water under there. If so search for rear windscreen washer leaks. If water is present, some people have been lucky enough to dry the modules out over a couple of days in the airing cupboard indoors. Quote
big_kev Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 a few more details what the box looks like can i acess it with out removing seats, do you mean the passenger front seat, Slide the front passenger seat fully forward. Lift up the flap underneath ( probably a piece of carpet). The control box should be obvious, there nowt else of any size in there......other than sweety wrappers and possibly a puddle. It is also possible that there is no control box there and just 2 or 3 suspicious plugs with nothing to connect to......someones had your control box away ;) Do you have working central locking ? scooper1 Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 if it a late 98 then the controller is part of the fuse box - drop the fuse box and check for lose connectors and relays for the cruse control - repair the pipe behind the left hand indicator Quote
jonny239 Posted January 12, 2010 Author Report Posted January 12, 2010 yes it is a late 98 ill take a look behind the indicator at the pipes thanks Does the fuse box drop out as to allow access and if so how ? any ideas which relays control the interior lights it must be something that allows the control of all the internal lights as not one of them is working including the door lights thanks for all the help I think i hear a relay click when i open and close the driver door. philsha1 Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Hi All, I have a 52 plate Galaxy 1.9tdi. I also have a light failure on the dash and all controls (Heaters, heated windscreen etc). The courtesy lights work ok though. Any ideas if this is the same problem ? Any help appreciated as I spent out buying the car and can't really afford repairs at the moment. Quote
