Guest BMcN Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Hi guys, I installed a JVC cd player to a 2003 Ford Galaxy as a favour to someone. After removing the old one and installing the cage and blanking plate I went to connect the leads via a ISO connector I got from a local car shop. The one that I had been given however did not fit (it did say it was for a Galaxy). I had a little surf on the internet I noticed that on www.caraudiodirect.co.uk they had two diffrent sections for the Ford galaxy, a 1995-2000 and a 2000 onwards, however there were no fittings in the 2000 section, so what do I do? If I remember correctly there is 2 slim rectangular shape connectors, one has 3 rasied corners and the other has just one raised corner. (By raised I mean a sticky up bit, rubbish description I know....) Thanks, Bryan. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Sounds (no pun intended) as if you need to go to a better car audio place with the right leads. Don't forget that you will need the special aerial lead adaptor to power the window-mounted aerial amplifier. Quote
Guest BMcN Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Small town so its the only one local. Would anyone be kind enough to link me to a website that stocks these? Thanks for your reply. Quote

Guest BMcN Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Well.... not really. I still cannot find the one I am looking for. Anyone else? Quote
Guest BMcN Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Stranraer, South West Scotland.... Has no-one had this problem then? Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Not in such a "remote" place! Closest places I can think of that may be of help to you are in Aberdeen (!) I don't know the west coast of Scotland too well, no wonder you'd prefer internet or mail order. Have you got a Halfords near you? Quote
Guest BMcN Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Closest Halfords is about an hour away, in Ayr. Aberdeen is over 4 hours drive. Really has to be off the internet or nothing. Can you shed any light on the matter if the ISO connecter I'm looking for actually exsists? When I emailed Car Audio Direct they didn't seem too sure even though they have a section for 2000> Galaxy's (albeit with nothing in it). Quote
malcolm.dobell Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Try "Edworthys" or "add a cd changer" - type words into Google. I've corresponded with them over a cunning plan to do something to my Alhambra and they've always replied by return and seem to be alive with adaptors of one sort or another Quote
