Difficult

Hi all yet again i have a question for those in the know, it is getting more and more difficult to get a smooth gear selection, well 2nd gear anyway but their all a bit sloppy. Does anyone have any advice on what the issue may be, if i move away slowly and shift into 2nd it's very knotchy again when changing down at slow speeds and trying for second same thing . I have a good complete spare box and was wondering if any part is prone to wear so i may be able to swap or is it just wishful thinking, anything to look out for ??????

just a thought i bought a p reg and when looking through the paper work i noticed that in june 2009 it had a new set of gear cables . the discription of fault was driver complaining of poor gear select and sloppy gear stick , hope this helps
