Guest kev140766 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I need to remove the door trim of a rear door ( wind up windows) to fix the cloth trim that is fraying at the top. It has come away from the black strip that runs along the glass. Is it easy or are there hidden horrors? Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 door card removal the rear door card is virtually the same to remove as the front so the above link should help you, to remove the winder handle's pull the ring around the shaft away from the main part of the winder till it sits off centre and the handle should then pull away from the shaft its mounted on Quote
Guest kev140766 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Hmmm.... seems too easy, are you sure you haven't left out the bit where something breaks, costs a fortune and takes weeks to order !!!!! Thanks for the help, roll on my next day off Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Unless your extremly heavy handed! the only things you may break are the retaining clips that slot into the door card and press into the door panels or tear the clips out of the slots in the door card! I have half a dozen or so spare clips B) so I ready it if and when they do break! oh and the retaining clips on the trim panel behind the finger pull! Quote
Guest kev140766 Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Trim repaired, no problems. I got a load of replacement clips as some did break. The new one's are different to the old one's , they are now 2 piece items that swivel. Much better. cost... Quote
