The Barge Captain Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Hi all. Looks as though the stat in the cooling system is jammed open as takes around 30 mins to reach operating temp at the moment. ( not helped by the fact that the aux heater is FUBAR)Just the sort of job I'd love to do in this weather. I've looked through the FAQ's but didn't see anything.Any quick tips and hints? Merry Christmas to you all. Quote
gregers Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 im thinking even if yu do find the location of the thermostat it wont be any better,i know when my booster was fubared it took an absolute age to move the needle on the gauge, read up on the booster heaters then your understand from the posts how efficient the tdis are. Floydey Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 The thermostat is located on the engine block just below the spherical vacuum chamber. You will need a torx bit with a extension shaft, can't remember the size. Don't forget to get a replacement "O" ring for the thermostat. Quote
