Denis Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 This evening the central red message part of my dashboard went blank- all the mpg/ door open warning/ temperature etc info was missing. Also, the yellow 'brake' symbol that normally disappears when you select a gear remained lit all the time. About an hour later it all went back to normal. So, an intermittent electrical problem but anyone know where to look? Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 There has been a couple of posts in regards to dash display loss and irregular readings on later model Galaxy's, it's been said that there is a known problem with the dash displays and a fix is on its way! Quote
Guest rapalast Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I had exactly the same problem, twice in the last three months or so. Warning display completely blank on starting, and the gear selector warning light permanently on. It stays out for the duration of the journey and restarting doesn't correct it, but its clear by the next time I use the car. I had it serviced by a dealer last week and asked them to look at it - response was that it worked ok for them (i.e not interested in an intermitment fault)!! I hope a fix does appear one day. Quote
Denis Posted April 9, 2004 Author Report Posted April 9, 2004 Yes, the dealers aren't too keen on tackling intemittent faults. However, as I bought my car from Ford Direct a couple of weeks ago and I am still entitled to reject it for any reason, I shall write to my dealer on Monday rejecting the car and requesting a refund... unless they are prepared to fix the dashboard. And that noisy door seal. Should get their attention I think? Quote
suzuki91 Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 bet they take it in to fix, then park it up and wait for you to collect it again fixed? :( Quote
