Wideboy Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Hi there been a while since i posted i have a 1996 vw sharan petrol with climate control yesterday the fan stopped working there was a click noise then an electrical smell and hasnt worked since i am led to believe it is the resistor pack behind the glovebox or as i have heard called the hedgehog will another vw model number work or a ford one as i have just rang vw and they want Quote

UPDATE - So far went scrap yard got identical heater resistor (hedgehog) didnt make no difference still not working,got another fan still didnt make it work and another climate control unit still didnt make no difference,any other ideas as we cant use the car at all especially with the weather the way it is at the minute,is there a relay that relates to the heater at all? When it stopped working we heard a click then electrical burning smell any more ideas and help would be much appreciated thank you. Quote
Mirez Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 You'll almost certainly have popped one or more fuses if the resisor pack has burnt out - there are many that control the system though so take each one out in turn and examine it! Quote
