Retro-fit Travel Computer Questions

Just a few quick ones.

 

I've been reading the posts here about retro fitting the travel computer on MKII Galaxys.

 

What I'd like to know is:

 

1) When you change the instrument panel to the "med" or "high" and have the proper stalk, is it just a case of plugging the stalk into the existing wiring (and then activating using VAG Com), or do you have to do additional wiring?

 

2) Instrument panels from VAG are programmable only once when new. Is there any way that using a second hand unit that the milieage can be transferred? I'm guessing not due to the implications this has, but thought I'd ask anyway.

 

3) What about the outside temperature sensor? I mean, I won't have one if my car did not have the computer fitted as standard (or will I ??). How easy is it to fit one of these?
