Wimb Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Sooooo Cold , 2.3 R plate Galaxy with climate control , (LCD) heaters used to work fine now just cold , ive looked through other threads and most mention matrix problems , not the case with mine both matrix pipes get red hot , so I'm guessing it is electrical / cables or whatever control the flaps . When it was working I could hear the flaps changing position ie switching from Lo / High setting i would hear the flaps change , this no longer happens , still have hot air in the back blowing but I cant drive the car from the back :) Any ideas please ? Is there a relay that controls flaps Edited December 1, 2009 by Wimb Quote
big_kev Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) It does sound like the hot/cold flap may be sticking. Unfortunately this is the hardest to get to, being on top of the unit. If you have vagcom ( or similar ) you should be able to see the actual fault code which may confirm this. However below is link containing a nice pic ( posted by some nutter  ). http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=15148 You can see the flap motors on the top and right of the heater assembly.
