Hi

Can anyone help with the following problem

My central locking ECU was water damaged and I am looking to get a replacement.

I have resorted to having to temporarily use the key in the drivers doorlock to lock the vehicle (after manually closing the handles from inside the car to lock the rest of the doors)

Everytime I lock the drivers door, a second later it unlocks again???

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have answered your own question when you say your central locking ECU is water damaged I would imagine thats what is causing the behavior. Hopefully when you replace it your problem will be resolved.

Assuming problem is with the ECU (under front seat) have you tried drying it out. It is fairly easy to remove plastic cover to get access to circuit board inside the ECU to dry it out thoroughly.

If one of the components on the board is damaged/shorting the above probably won't help much (unless you have the electronic skills to repair the faulty component or disconnect the wire from /to the faulty item in the ECU).

If all else fails suggest you can disconnect the plugs from the ECU until you get a new unit. The ECU controls other functions such as curtesy light and alarm so you will lose them when you disconnect the plugs. At least it should stop the doors unlocking.
