seatkid Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Do you know whereabouts its leaking?yea mine is cracked at both ends.I suggest you get some amalgamating tape and wrap it round the cracked areas. Quote
ianyerman Posted November 30, 2009 Author Report Posted November 30, 2009 problem sorted, cut the split ends off the vacuum pipe got some silicon pipe, cut about 2/3" lengths, placed them in a jug of boiling water to soften them up.Sliped them on to the ends of the pipe and to the brake servo and the same at the other end.Didnt need to use any pipe clips as they were a good tight fit. I also found a few other small pipes split at the ends so repaired them while i was at it.Made a quick call to the mot center (the joys of northern ireland mot centers) and got an appoitment 30mins later so was a rush to get there. The inspector didnt even look at it, just pressed the brake pedal a few times and that was it.Is it true that the vacuum controles the reculating flap for the heater?Mine wasnt working so I had to jam it open with a screw in through where the pollen filter is. seatkid Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Is it true that the vacuum controles the reculating flap for the heater? Mk 1 Manual a/c models - yes the recirc flap is vacuum operated. Well done with the repair. Quote
ianyerman Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 only thing now is i seam to have a lot more power and can now here the turbo fluttering through the airfilter which I have only ever heard on petrol cars with no airfilter. Quote
seatkid Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Turbo control system is operated by vacuum also! Maybe you need to check more pipes.... Edited December 1, 2009 by seatkid Quote
