Hi all,

Ive just bought a galaxy 2.0 Petrol Auto... its a lovely car, but has started to stall when I am slowing down, and it fells like its still in gear.... naturally as i come to rest, it then stalls, much like a manual would do if you didnt depress the clutch...

If I start the car and put it in drive (or reverse) it will start to stall straight away, unless i rev it straight away and get the thing moving....

I bought a new gearbox, and my mechanic said it *might* be the torque converter....which didnt come with the box...

help much appreciated ... I certainly dont want him to rip out the box if its the TC thats at fault...

Kind regards.

Cliff

Idle Stability valve otherwise known as air bypass valve. It is bunged up and requires cleaning or replacing. Do a search and you will find lots of info and experiences. Usual symptom is stalling when slowing down. Edited by seatkid
