marinabrid Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 (edited) Do a search on the rain channels, they are inside the bulkhead under the tray that covers the wiper motor, theyt are each end. you have to remove the inner wheel arch cover and you will see the outlet for the rain when it runs of the tray inside the bulkhead. these will be blocked. poke a coat hanger up there and see the garbage that comes out, i couldnt believe the amount stuck in ours.also check your pollen filter, it could be seeping through that corner as for the control box under the seat, ours got wet as well and the locks went crazt, i took it apart and put it in the airing cupboard over night, ity dried out and worked fine , if its damaged you can get em off ebay but make sure you get the matching part number or it wont work. JDF Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 It probably not, but sometime a wet passenger foot well can be from the rear window washer hose - these can split/come apart and leak.I think there is a note on fix in the FAQ section. J. Quote

dipsomaniac Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 i've got the same problem. my pollen filter hadn't been fitted properly so i replaced it with a new one and the water still pours in when it rain. the pollen filter is easily enough to replace. you just need to remove the scuttle drain tray and slide the filter out from the left. you can find full instruction in the faq's section. the water is coming in from the sun roof drainage channel and into the car via the rubber seal that the passenger door closes onto. i have got some wire coming tomorrow and will try cleaning the channel. Wez Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 hi all i have a ford galaxy 1997 i was wondering if any one can help when it rains the passenger foot well fills up with water and goes under neath the chair into where the box for all the doors and windows (what a silly p;lace to put this box) making the windows and door unlock themselfs ive checked the sunroof and all dry also dry around the door rubbers please can any one help rain rain go away many thanks daveThere is a modification that was done to later models and can be done to all, The pollen filter housing is the most likely cause by all the trouble shooting you have done so far. If you have had a pollen filter change at anytime and bought an none ford part then the likelyhood of this being any good is minimal. The only way of getting the right filter that I am aware of is through Ford unfortunately. The modification to the housing is a frame glued in place and a foam filter added. There is also a check of the air valve and a different carbon filter and resistor pack fitted to the heating fan under the same mod. However it is always worth checking that the filter that you have got fitted is correctly seated first. I had exactly the same problem when I changed my filter for a none Ford part. It was good up until then and has been fine since an original Ford part fitted. Even though I don't like buying direct from Ford it would seem in this case it could work out cheaper than sorting out electrics and rust later on, that is besides the heavy mist on the inside of your screen in the mornings and even worse when it freezes Quote
