sam827 Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Can any one offer me any advice? I was driving towards traffic lights when my car died (all the warning lights came on), then there was nothing. We called the recovery people and he has said the cam belt had gone. Is there any chance of saving the car or would this have killed the engine? its a v reg.. any advice would be appricated - cheers Quote
mk2vr6 Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 no cam belt, VR6 has chains, so if he looked under the bonnet and saw a broken belt then its the aux drive belt, powers the alternator, power steering, water pump and ac Quote

I think we will get someone to look at it before we make any drastic decisons, thanks for the advice Quote
