Its a VW part so it should fit.....however there may be a difference in style.

Best bet is to double check.....tesco's car park is particularly good for this !

ALL the mirrors, be it from a galaxy, sharan or alhambra - Mk1 or Mk2 use the same mirror base and two bolt fitment plus wiring layout so all will directly fit.

However the mirror body (and thus appearance) differs: The galaxy hasn't had any revisions to the body and shares the same design as the Mk1 sharan/alhambra. The sharan/alhambra got a revised unit for the Mk2 and this was revised yet again for the sharan towards the end of 06 when the higher spec models got the repeaters moved to the mirrors. The sharan/alhambra also had the option of electric folding mirrors and these are, again, different casings.

Miraz - thanks for the info.

My passenger mirror only works up and down (not left and right). Is there one single motor in the unit? and could I simply just change the motor rather than the whole unit?

There is a motor on ebay for

There are two motors in door mirrors, one for up/down and one for left/right.

If its this ebay item then thats for both motors in the assembly. You can see them either side of the central white bar.

You can change individual motors but its much, much easier to simply replace as this assembly - remove the glass, remove the 4 retaining screws, disconect the wiring and remove.
