chaz Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 hello, i recently bought a ford galaxy 2.3 petrol v reg. i was given one key .i stupidly lost that only key . so i called someone up to to replace that key . i can open the car . i can put the key in ignition. i can turn the key in ignition . thing is nothing happens. nothing . i have got somenoe else out today and he tried three different chips and still nothing. can the battery be so flat stopping it from starting. u would hear a noise surely. so i need some help. is this unusual. can i get it fixed. can someone point me in the right direction please. i need this car to go . any help would be apprirated. is the immobiliser got a mind of its own. this is making me go crazy i know that much. thanks chaz Quote
seatkid Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) The ignition lights should come on and the engine should (IIRC) crank over, but will not start unless the PATS chips in the key is correctly programmed. Otherwise, you need to reprogram the PATS immobiliser. Can only be done at the dealer with the correct security code (attached to key at delivery time or obtainable via dealer, maybe) Costs about Edited November 4, 2009 by seatkid Quote
