Hello this is my first post so hi to all ;) my galaxy is driving me crazy there is something running under the bonnet when the engine is turned off sometimes it starts after you get out and start getting the kids out! i have located it and it's a silver cylinder sort of thing with a connector attached to it. sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't, is it supposed to do this? It's my 1st galaxy and with 3 boys we cannot fault our car hope somebody can advise me many thanks paul

It's a coolant pump which keeps running for a while after switching off to stop local hot spots forming e.g. in turbo. It's perfectly normal and should go off after a few minutes.

Its semi-normal. it should run EVERY time the engine/ignition is turned off not just some of the time. It should also be turning off after a few minutes.
