Saif Rehman Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 HI just joined the forum, just a question ,i had a tdi 110 and now have just got a tdi 130 galaxy but the old 110 seemed more responsive and alot smoother, this 130 is alot harsher and isnt as quick of the mark, is there somthing wrong ?thanks Hi zed, According to Parkers Guide the tdi 110 is only 1.3s slower to 60mph and has a top speed of 107mph as opposed to 117mph for the 130bhp model. Where you will notice the difference is the 'torque' figures which means the 130 will have better acceleration without the need to drop a gear or two. Quote
jkspoff Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 I used to have the 115bhp Galaxy and now have a 130bhp Galaxy, I have noticed quite a difference in the extra power of the 130, so I would check out the usual bits and pieces on yours, e.g. MAF, vacuum hoses etc Quote

Saif Rehman Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 zed, in simple terms the MAF is a key engine sensor that detects the volume of air drawn into the engine and in return informs the ecu (brain) to deliver the correct amount of fuel into the combustion chamber. Do a search for 'maf' and be surprised on the results - they will also reveal a technique used to determine if you have a faulty maf or not and if i recall correctly there was a thread that dealt with cleaning the maf with a simple carb cleaner spray but if you follow this route (cleaning) be careful as it is very fragile.
