Ivor_E_Tower Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Try disconnecting the car battery for 20 minutes, then starting from scratch... Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Just that - open door with key, place into ignition, start car, drive a bit. Stop car, get out and lock with remote action of key. Quote
Guest mrtonywade Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 is that it.?????? i thought there was a routine to reprograming the key???so therefore, thought that the remote must work the same way,???anywhy, the battery has been in the remote for a couple of mounths now,i ofton press it, but nothing has ever happened, except the little red light in the key flasses, the central locking works fine but only on the key, not remotly Quote
Guest nimrod Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 try reading........ remote programming Quote
batteryboy Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 The remote locking / unlocking should be a totally seperate bit of electronics from the immobiliser feature. When you replaced the battery it sounds like the very tiny ignition actuator probably dropped out of the key head. It is black and measures about 5mm x 1mm x 2mm. The key should start the engine even if the remote locking electronics has been taken out. The solution is probably Ford to get another key! Quote
