jonny Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) I have managed to lose the immobiliser programming in one of my keys, i think when I was changing the battery in the fob. Any ideas how I can get it back, or am I looking at a trip to main dealers? I've read the key reprogramming in the manual, but unfortunately this needs 2 working keys and a third blank. I've only got 2- one working and now one not working. Car is a 2002 zetec Auto. Any advice / suggestions gratefully recieved! Edited September 29, 2009 by jonny Quote
gregers Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 dunno how you can lose the programming to the pats chip by changing the batteries????you sure you aint lost the chip???itself?? fraid its a trip to the stealers or a decent mobile locksmith or someone with full diagnostic software like vag-com,as you are aware you need 2 keys to program any more. gregers Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 mmm, somewhere on the forum is a picture.its a small black chip that slides in the side of the horse shoe part of the key,i would either try to find the pic or carefully take your other key apart ON A TABLE WITH SOME PAPER ON IT.so you know what your meant to be looking for, once you know what it looks like try to remmeber where you changed the batteries and get on your hands and knees and try to find it,ITS WORTH ABOUT Quote
jonny Posted September 29, 2009 Author Report Posted September 29, 2009 That'll be what I'm missing, nothing in mine, I've searched round the kitchen floor and units but to no joy. Looks like I'm going to a locksmith tomorrow....... Quote
cyborg Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Dont worry happened to me once i look into a simular problem once. the philips chip can easly clonned and costs about 35 squid from a lock smith with new key.however stealers would see you as an easy 200 and laugh as they take key to locksmith.... ;) Quote
gregers Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 cyborg, who cloned your key?jonny you still need to obtain the correct pats chip to be abled to get the key cloned.have another look for it AND KEEP LOOKING you know its there, rip the hoover apart if need be. Quote
