Hi all,

Hope someone can help. I have a 05 galaxy.

I have a problem with the heater / fan control unit.

Yesterday I fitted a new radio. Straight after this I took the car out. Turned on the AC. The AC button started to flash for a minute the switched off. I now have no power going to the fan control. The only thing that works is the fan speeds. I have no heat and cannot turn on the rear fans. None of the buttons will light up at the bottom. (AC/Rear fans and recycle)

I thought it would be a fuse that has blown. I check fuses 1 -34 and cannot find anything blown.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I might have done something when fitting the radio?

Yes it is likely when you fitted the radio yoiu disturbed the connections on the back of the a/c controls.......I am assuming that the radio was astraight plug in and you didn't play with any of the wiring.

Should be easy enough to have a look and check that they are all still fully connected.

I have pulled out the controls and checked all wiring. it seems to be ok.

I still have the fault. Any other ideas? Could i have damaged the controls in any way?

It wasn't a straight forward plug in radio. I had to mess about with the wiring a little.

Hi Taylor2.

What you describe does sound like the connector to the heater controls is playing up.This is a common fault. We have had it twice. Search the forum and you will find it. The connectors work loose so you may have dislodged something.

The symptoms...every control is stuck at it's last working setting. The fan can be turned on and off but the direction is set, you're lucky if it was on the windscreen and the aircon no longer works nor do the other switched. Also no lights show on the controls.

Good luck

I have check the connections on the heater controls and they seem ok. Do you know where I should be looking.

When fitting the radio. I fed cable underneath the glove box and fitted an amp under the passenger seat. Is there any connections around these areas I could of knocked?

Heater controls post

This is a common problem but, another thought, Does your trip work? And do you have an analogue clock, and is it working? I had a fuse blow which affected all of this after I meddled elsewhere.
