b11rme Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Hi Hope someone can help, I have just brought a mk11 galaxy 1.9tdi which has a lovely set of 19inch alloys on it, it looks lowered (maybe just due to the size of the alloys) however when cornering hard or going over bumps the wheels touch the wheel arches, its sitting on 225/40/19 on fronts, 255/40/19 on the rears. I hope somebody can come up with a cure for the wheels touching. thanks Quote

[attachment=5016:021.JPG] 19's on 235/35/ 19 and they still rub! see the mark inside the rear of the arch Quote
jkspoff Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Have you got a picture of your galaxy from a side profile please. Quote
jkspoff Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 I have just upgraded my wheels from 18 to 19 inch, same style RS6, with 235 35 19 Avon tyres. All I need to do now is not curb them ! Quote

jkspoff Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) Drives great now that I've had the wheels properly balanced and the alternator pulley fixed ! Its lowered but the wheels never catch on the arches and it doesn't look daft, as there is still a good few inches between the arches and wheels. When its fully loaded with people and luggage it sits well on the road and handles superb compared to the standard set up. A bargain all round, although I would say that, to justify doing it ! My wife still can't understand why I lowered it and put bigger wheels on, but maybe its just a boy thing !! By the way, it has 19" RS6 style wheels fitted with 235 35 R19 Avon ZZ3 reinforced tyres, and -50mm G-max springs. Edited October 2, 2009 by jkspoff Quote
viperclive Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 I sure would like to see a pic with the 19" wheels on as I'm looking at getting a set for my gal. Clive Quote
